It didn't take us long to find a nice little coffee shop close to the markets.
The 'oldies' went off to explore on their own & we checked out the market stalls before heading to the Cascades.
On the minibus to the Cascades Sim befriended one of the locals & invited her to join us. Her name was Caroline & she was studying to be a teacher. Her husband was working away & her 2 children had gone across to another island to spend time with their grandparents so she was free as a bird to do as she pleased. This pleased us very much as we had someone to tell us about the place & because we paid for her entry fee it got us in at a reduced price.

On the way back to town we called into Carolines home so she could change out of her wet things & join us for lunch again which we paid for. The area she resided at was in the poorer side of town. It appeared to be set up in a communal fashion & was a wonderful insite into their lives & how they live. Deciphered: Public Library belong Port Vila

Kerrie shows us the Vanuatu flag at the supermarket. I loved the fruit & veg markets which were overflowing with produce. You can also see Alayr in the foreground strumming away on an instrument...yep, I bought one of the local ukuleles to add to my collection.
..... the end of a wonderful day & the Pacific Sun is due to depart in 5 minutes.
